Ship House
The client for this house came with some very clear goals. He wanted a two-storey house with a large central void and loft styling. He wanted to capture all the fabulous views his site had to offer and he wanted to build it himself as an owner builder.
From there we were able to design a house very quickly, which is full of light but still gives privacy. The structure is straight forward and simple to put together. The materials are robust including polished concrete with green glass aggregate, expressed timber joists and ceilings and insulated roof panels. Together they create interesting, interconnected spaces with views through the house and beyond to the surrounding hills.
